PM-Mendes has a policy commitment to protect the environment and reduce our carbon foot-print wherever possible. In this regard we operate vehicles with low carbon credentials and have invested in facilities and equipment to segregate and recycle our waste, we endeavour to examine so-called green options and purchase them wherever possible, and of course we only do business with responsible suppliers who have similar views.

We take little notice of documentation and notices of good intentions, as it is actions and not words that will produce any meaningful result. It is perfectly possible to obtain timber from sources with impeccably green credentials which do not necessarily burden themselves with the bureaucracy and not inconsiderable cost of being certified, but we encourage and assist these to become certified if at all practical. Undoubtedly there are illegal sources offering cheap timber to less scrupulous importers and these do have to be controlled. However, with our considerable experience in dealing with many overseas suppliers, we are able to insist that our products are made from fully sustainable resources.

All in all, our customers can be assured that any product purchased from us has made minimal contribution to the problem of global warning.
